The key objective of this paper is to design slotted circular and rectangular printed antennas using a direct co-axial probe feed technique. The suggested design deals with a high gain, broadband, low profile, and compact antenna element. Here slots are overloaded in the arrangement of slices from the sides, ground plane, and center of the circular patch and rectangular shape patch. Parameters like radiation pattern, bandwidth, gain, return loss, and mismatch losses are investigated with MOM (Method of Moment) and it is abided by FEKO software. Simulated results give the bandwidth of slotted rectangular microstrip, circular microstrip antennas were found to be as 5.0212 times (up to 30.415%) and 12.989 times (up to 22.836%) respectively that of the rectangular microstrip patch antenna with no slot (6.05%) and circular microstrip (1.758%) antennas with no slot. Details of the antenna designs and simulated effects are presented and also discussed. © 2022 IEEE.
