There are speci�c techniques for the study of photophysics characteristics of organic materials and optoelectronic devices based on the organic semiconductor. For example, the method of continuous wave photoinduced absorption spectroscopy (cw- PIA) is a highly sensitive method for the study of the process having long-lived excited species. This technique uses two optical beams, one for sample excitation cw-laser and another for probing the remaining excited states in the sample after an optical pumping halogen lamp. The work based on the investigation of generation and recombination dynamics of photocarriers (polarons) in poly(3-hexylthiophene) and [6,6] -phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester bend thin �lms using cw-PIA also the construction, and even the characterization of an experimental apparatus for cw-PIA spectroscopy. The successful implementation of the technique is to detect the long-lived excitations. From the modulation-frequency dependence of a cw-PA signal, it is also possible to study its dynamics on a microsecond to a millisecond time scale of the �lm in the semiconducting polymer P3HT and the blend P3HT / PCBM (mainly employed as an active layer in organic solar cells).
