Abstract

Channel Assignment Performance Prediction (CAPP) metrics are theoretical indices that offer an insight into the expected performance of a channel allocation (CA) scheme when deployed in a mesh network. Channel Assignment Link-Weight Metric (CALM) is demonstrated to be a highly reliable CAPP metric that makes accurate predictions regarding expected CA performance. Thus, it is a robust tool that aids network administrators in the task of CA selection for a mesh network. However, the relationship between CALM and observed network capacity is yet unknown, and in this work we attempt to determine if there exists a correlation between the two. We carry out polynomial regression analysis of the results of three test-scenarios simulated on ns-3. We also present CALM value predictions for a given Throughput range to ensure testability of our work through future investigations.
