Abstract

Need of the fuel is growing but its availability is limited. Further, the stringent regulations for emissions from engine have made the world to develop the engines which follows the regulation norms and are more efficient than current one. For the solution of the aforementioned problem, the study of air-fuel mixture is important and this mixture is directly affected by the amount of fuel injected, time of the injection, spray area, spray penetration length etc. The aim of this study is to develop a methodology for the investigation of the spray characteristics of the ISO-octane and n-butanol blend (B0,B5, B10 and B20) in a constant volume combustion chamber.
